WINGS exists to provide women and children in need the opportunity to gain strength and to live according to their true worth.

“Almost every woman who calls needs help – the question is are we the ones to help her?”

Through Monarch Place Transition House, Chrysalis Place Second Stage Program, WISHES support groups, two outreach programs, and our counselling program, we offer shelter and support to women and children fleeing domestic violence.

A brief description of other WINGS programs include:

Chrysalis Place Second Stage House is an 11 bed residence offering a one year subsidized residential program designed to support women through an intensive recovery and healing process with the goal of creating safe independent living. This program is primarily funded by BC Housing.

W.I.S.H.E.S. (Women in Safe, Healthy, Empowering Support) is a curriculum-based ten week community support group facilitating the journey to wholeness and healthy living. This program is primarily funded through a grant from the City of New Westminster.

W.I.N.G.S. Multicultural Outreach Services provides specialized support and advocacy services to multi-cultural women living in the New Westminster area. The program offers assistance and advocacy with income assistance, legal proceedings, and affordable housing, as well as support at appointments. They also provide public education initiatives to raise the awareness of the effects of violence against women. This program is primarily funded by The Ministry of Justice.

W.I.N.G.S. Housing Outreach Program assists women to attain safe, secure, long term housing stability. The program offers identification and provision of immediate needs, support in finding affordable housing, connections to supportive community resources when they relocate, and help in navigating any necessary legal or court processes. This program is primarily funded by BC Housing.

W.I.N.G.S. Counselling Services offers confidential, non-judgmental counselling in a relaxed and safe environment for women, men, families, and friends affected by domestic abuse. WINGS employs faith-based counsellors who are registered, certified, and experienced in working in the area of domestic abuse.

HOME IMPROVEMENT: Men in Relationship is a curriculum-based 15 week peer support and accountability for men who want to learn how to be in healthy relationships, take responsibility for their behaviour, desire change, are willing to work toward change, and who believe that change is possible.
